Service Description

Your Breath & Your Pelvis Over seven weeks we will explore the intimate relationship between your breath and your pelvis, through guided breathing practices, simple somatic movement and self-touch. We will explore pelvic breathing, spinal breathing and ujjayi, gradually moving towards applied and pure uddiyana bandha, becoming more sensitive to the subtle movement, closing, lifting and releasing felt within the pelvis, vulva and vagina. Joining the course The seven Tuesday sessions are each one hour and will take place live online. All Tuesday sessions will be recorded, so you can take part either live or through the recordings afterwards, in your own time. You do not need to be available on Tuesdays to participate in the course. If you join live, you do not need to have your camera on. In fact, during some parts of the practice you will specifically be invited to turn your camera off, giving you privacy to explore the practices in your own space. The course will include guided breathing practices, gentle movement and some self-touch. Everything is an invitation, and you are encouraged to explore in relationship with your own sensitivity and limits, and in ways that feel welcome to you. What you will need For the Tuesday sessions, have a quiet space where you are unlikely to be disturbed, along with: a yoga mat or comfortable floor space a meditation cushion or chair two cushions or folded blankets of a similar height Comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe and move freely is recommended. Optional Deep Listening gatherings There will also be three optional Deep Listening gatherings alongside the Tuesday practices. These are an invitation to be together with other women in the course, to share, listen and be heard. These gatherings are different from the Tuesday practice sessions. If you join a Deep Listening gathering, you will need to have your camera on, as seeing one another is part of creating the intimacy of sharing together. The Deep Listening gatherings will not be recorded, so what is shared remains within the group. Turkish translation The course will be translated live into Turkish by Tûba İmik, who has been practising yoga since 2004 and teaching since 2015, with many years of study and practice with Godfrey Devereux.
