Breathing Practices (Pranayama) can bring many gifts to your daily experience, which can invite positive changes to how you feel inside and to your relationship with the world around. The following practices are taught in courses with Olivia:
Active breathing practices:
The Breath of Purification (also known as Kapalabhati): is a cleansing practice to calm, clear, ground & embody mind. It nourishes the diaphragm (giving it a restful change in rhythm to it's usual cycle with the breath). It refreshes the brain and body. Strengthens the lower core (transverse abdominal, pelvic floor). And internalises awareness.
The Breath of Resilience (also known as Suxshma Rexacka): is a practice to calm, ground and embody mind. It strengthens the lower core (transverse abdominal, pelvic floor). Softens the sense of self. Internalises awareness. And awakens Right Brain activation.
The Breath of Power (also known as Suxshma Purakha): Is a calming and clarifying practice. It embodies mind. Strengthens the core (spine, transverse abdominal, pelvic floor) Lengthens they spine (for posture) Refreshes the brain Internalises awareness Awakens Left Brain regulation Awakens Right Brain activation
The Breath of Coherence (also known as Ujjai Breathing): Deepens all the following from the practice above: Calms, clarifies and embodies mind. Strengthens the core (spine, transverse abdominal, pelvic floor) Lengthens they spine (for posture) Refreshes the brain Internalises awareness Awakens Left Brain regulation Awakens Right Brain activation
Passive breathing practices:
Breath of Freedom, Courage & Fearlessness (also known as Free-breathing): Are practices to calm, ground and embody the mind. They release tension from the respiratory muscles. Release tension from the mind. Dissolve anxiety. Nourish the body. Internalise awareness. And awaken Right Brain activation.
